The capital of Poland, almost completely destroyed during World War II, raised from the rubble by the incredible effort of the entire ruined and plundered country, today being an extraordinary mixture of carefully rebuilt and restored monuments, fragments of the “Paris of the North”, as Warsaw was called in the 19th century, pompous post-war buildings in the style of socialist realism, with the Palace of Culture at the forefront imported directly from Moscow, gray-brown simple and poor architecture of the time of “real socialism”, and finally modern glass and concrete architecture at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries. A city full of history and its memorabilia. Before the II World War the largest Jewish community in Europe. The arena of the two biggest uprisings against the Nazi invaders. The largest, loudest, busiest, most beautiful and ugliest city in Poland: the only one.

You will visit Łazienki Park with the summer residence of the last king of Poland, Frederick Chopin monument, UNESCO World Heritage monuments of the Old Town with the Royal Castle, St. John’s Cathedral and the tombs of the Jagiellonian and Vasa dynasties, Pilsudski Square with the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Royal Route of Warsaw with aristocratic residences and famous monuments, Palace of Culture and Science, the former Jewish Ghetto with the Polin Museum and Memorial to the Heroes of the Ghetto, Umschlagplatz – place where the Nazis collected the Jews for deportation to the death camp in Treblinka.
